Uniquely Singapore!

NOTE: Each paragraph relates to photos above, taken from left to right.

Well, how lucky am I? The lovely Sandy decided to take me along with her brother Jim for a short jaunt overseas – to Singapore! It is an amazing place with so much to offer. Nice places to see, lots of attractions, lovely people and of course shopping galore which made Sandy very happy.

Naval/Airforce Resort

We stayed here with friends for a few hours as we arrived at 3am! Our wonderful friends let us sleep in and then we all had breakfast together. That morning was glorious if a little humid. Here I am overlooking the gardens and golf course beyond.

My new friends who took good care of me over breakfast.

Clarke Quay

Here I am at Clarke Quay – its lively and colourful and we then took a cruise along the rover. That’s the CBD/financial district right behind me.

The Formula One racing is on very soon and Singa Lion took care of me – can you see me?? A little spot the PB for you…… This was taken along Orchard Rd – the main shopping district. As you can imagine, Sandy spent some time along this route.

Singapore Botanical Gardens

We stopped here as we were on the SIA hop on hop off tour – the clock tower and bullfrog.

Singapore Flyer

The world’s largest giant observation wheel. A lot like a Ferris wheel which took 30 minutes for a full circle.

By this time, I had spent a lot of time with Sandy and Jim and for some reason Jim took a bit of a dislike to me! He threatened to throw me over the ledge at the Singapore Flyer! This happened while walking along to get to the platform – but he then decided to terrify me even more by taking me on the thing!!…. But not to worry – it was very slow ride and I had Sandy with me.

Lots of construction happening in Singapore, even a new casino.

We then took a quick tour of the Singapore National Library – that was an amazing place, multiple stories but the horrid people at the front counter wouldn’t let us have a squiz from the viewing platform. I was used to heights by this time having tackled the Singapore Flyer!

Raffles Hotel

Now it was time for a bit of class – The Raffles Hotel. Yes, this is the life, getting waited on – it was lovely. High tea was quite a splendid affair and we all ate too much.

The fantastic time I had in Singapore feels like a distant memory now as I make my way to my wonderful homeland……
